Cottage Clips
THANK YOU to all past and current guests who have expressed concern about us in the recent floods in our area. Fortunately, Lake Wisconsin Cottage has been unaffected by the floods, other than soggy yards and high lake levels. We have had no damage and are operating normally. Thanks for your emails and expressions of concern. Many of our neighbors in area towns....Baraboo, Columbus, Reedsburg, Spring Green, Pardeeville to name a few.....have had significant damage. If you would like to help, please contact your local American Red Cross and specify assistance to the "Wisconsin Floods". Keep us in your thoughts......rivers are still cresting and we are all anxiously awaiting the impact.

The SUMMER RENTAL SEASON is upon us. Much of the summer is booked, but call for last minute openings! The lake is gorgeous, the sunsets are directly over the Baraboo Bluffs, the air is warm, and the sandhill cranes feed from our dock! 608-635-2779.

The good news is that there is no price increase from 2007! Since we can't say the same for gas prices, this year is a good time to drive a short distance. Lake Wisconsin Cottage is approximately 3 hours from Chicago or Minneapolis, 2 hours from Milwaukee, and only a half hour from Madison or the Dells.

NEW for 2008.......Weekly stays will be Friday-Friday to allow you a full weekend to enjoy. Check-out times extended!

THE OWNERS' STORY

Ross and Connie Ellis Ament are originally from Yorkville, Illinois. Having searched several lake communities for a vacation home, we bought our "Lake House" (next door to Lake Wisconsin Cottage) in the year 2000. Our purchase of that home was made in the winter...never even having seen the place without snow! When the snow melted, we discovered a place that we have fallen in love with. The lake, nature, and the proximity to culture in Madison and other surrounding areas make it truly unique!

We also became fast friends with the owners of the rental cottage next door. By December, 2006, they had owned the cottage for 22 years and were ready to retire from the vacation-rental business. They sold the cottage to us and Lake Wisconsin Cottage, LLC was created. The previous owners still live on the other side of the cottage and the character of our friendly, lakefront neighborhood remains intact.

Ross's background is in the Tourism Industry, promoting Canadian, Illinois, and Wisconsin tourism products through liaison with Associations. He currently has his own business, Ament Associates Inc., which does Tourism, Agritourism, and Association Consulting.

Connie has worked in the public health and human services fields for many years. She has been the primary vacation-planner of the family and knows a great place when she sees it. Lake Wisconsin Cottage, LLC is our shared vision come true!

Our goal is to offer folks a memorable place to visit...one that will allow time to savor nature, while providing activities galore if you desire. Our experience is that, while summer is spectacular at the Lake, all seasons are beautiful and unforgettable. Visit Lake Wisconsin Cottage and perhaps you will fall in love, too!
